Hello, I’m Jolene MacFadden
I’m the founder of Southern Dragon Publishing Services — and chances are, if you’ve found your way here, you’re an author with a story to tell and a head full of questions about what to do next. That’s exactly why I built this place.
With 30 years of digital marketing experience and a career that spans medical office management, full-time RVing, campground hosting, and now academic research, I bring a perspective to author marketing that’s practical, human, and built for real people — not just tech-savvy twenty-somethings.
I’m currently pursuing my Master of Science in Social Media at the University of Florida, which means the strategies I bring to my clients are grounded in both decades of real-world experience and current research. I don’t just teach marketing — I live it.
I Know What It Feels Like to Be in Your Shoes
I’m not just a marketing consultant — I’m a published author myself. I’ve written 12 active non-fiction titles under my own name, including Authors: How to Brand You and Your Books and Top Ten Ways to Market Your Book for Free. I also write steampunk mystery romance fiction under my pen name L.J. Green, with titles including Pinevale Intrigue and Where Trade Winds Meet.
When I talk about the publishing journey, I’m talking about one I’ve walked myself — more than once. I understand the excitement, the confusion, and the moments where it all feels like too much. That’s not a sales pitch. That’s just the truth.
