Let’s Talk About the Web App Called Descript
I have been using this app for a couple of weeks now. It is $30 a month for the Pro version (gives you 30 hours of editing a month) and can be accessed either through the website address or you can download the app (much like Canva) onto your computer to use. I will tell you though the computer app version is kind of a resource hog. I do enjoy it for it’s ease of editing videos directly from the transcript. That means whatever you delete from the transcript the corresponding video/audio is deleted. I am finding that the transcription itself is usually more accurate than some of the other tools I have used. On the downside if you want to put fun animated and colorful captions onto the screen taken directly from your edited transcript this tool only has a 10 to 12 different styles of captions but you can tweak those to preferred colors. Now let’s compare Descript to it’s leading competitor Adobe Premiere Pro.
